Groovy Moves Dance & Music With Melody & Milligan Bear
Melody & Milligan Bear classes are the perfect introduction to dance, movement, acting & singing for little girls and boys, suitable from walking to 6 years. The joys of these wonderful classes are shared by teacher, parent and toddler as together they join Melody & Milligan Bear in their journey to Nursery Rhyme Land. How will they get there? Will it be by aeroplane, car or flying carpet? Who will they meet?
The classes consist of delightful interpretations of traditional, familiar nursery rhymes together with new music and songs designed to inspire children’s natural zest for self expression. The classes introduce children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping. They are structured to aid children’s physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, sensory development, creativity and self-expression, either working individually, with a partner, or as a group.
In addition to this, children are introduced to other fundamental curriculum learning skills such as counting, colour, shape recognition, vocabulary, language skills and the benefits of healthy eating and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. With so many studies indicating that child obesity is on the rise, it is important that we are able to educate children on this topic in a fun filled manner. The use of props, mime, songs and rhymes enrich and charm the budding performers as they take their first steps into the magical world of Melody Bear. The classes are not only great fun but also provide each child with the opportunity to discover and fulfil their own potential whilst nurturing creative development.
Melody & Milligan Bear encourage the children with their achievement stickers and sticker cards to work for their collection of bronze, silver and gold medals! The non- competitive award schemes aim to motivate, delight and inspire the budding artists. As your child develops, they will move up through the classes into our Modern Jazz Dance & Tap Classes where we aim to expand your childs dance knowledge, develop the correct stance, musical timing and improve technique.
